POTATO PANCAKES

POTATO PANCAKES

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 large potatoes coarsely grated
  • 1 medium onion finally sliced
  • 3 Tablespoons Plain Flour
  • 1 egg
  • Salt to taste
  • Dash of Black pepper
  • Oil or Ghee to Shallow Fry. (I always use Ghee. Taste is far better)

DIRECTIONS

  1.  Soak the grated potato and onion in cold water for about 30 minutes.
  2.  Use plenty of muscle power to squeeze out all water from the soaked potatoes and onions after straining away excess water of course
  3. Place in a bowl. Now add the salt and pepper, plain flour and egg. Mix well to combine properly.
  4. Pour a few Tablespoons oil or Ghee in a heavy skillet. It should be moderately hot. Pat out the potato mixture into flat but not too thin shapes onto the skillet. Let one side brown well before flipping over carefully. Each side will take about 3 to 4 minutes to brown.
  5. Your potato pancakes are ready. Serve warm.
