TOASTED CHEESE AND TOMATO SANDWICH
Yup...no need for sandwich makers with filling spilling out when pressed to close. Just use your skillet or frying pan. You can prepare amazing toasted sandwiches with various fillings. Try adding some cooked meals, onions, veggies, boiled potatoes, eggs (scrambled/omelette) with various sauces and or mayonnaise. Do add cheese as it helps the slices adhere well during toasting.
So here goes...what you'll need
INGREDIENTS
Bread slices as required.
Butter at room temperature (or spread able)
Cheese - slices, shredded or cream cheese
Some mayonnaise
Sliced Tomatoes
Some crushed black pepper
Salt - If needed
HOW TO GO ABOUT IT
1) Spread butter on only 1 side of each bread slice. Set aside with buttered side down
2) Now pile up 2 each with buttered side joining.
3) Place your frying pan or skillet on low heat
4) Add the cheese on the unbuttered side. Pile the tomato slices. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Add the mayonnaise
5) Now lift the slice, place on heated pan. Cover with 2nd slice with buttered side up. Start pressing them down with your spatula. Give it a minute or less and carefully flip over while supporting the upper slice lest it slips. Press down on this side as well
6) Keep flipping on and off and pressing down with spatula to seal. As soon as they get golden brown - remove and serve immediately.
